It’s been a minute so I thought we would catch up by going through a delightfully mixed bag of some of my latest and greatest purchases.
Beauty of Joseon Tinted Sunscreen: I swear by the BoJ sunscreen so I was *so* excited when they launched it and it did not disappoint. It honestly doesn’t have a ton of coverage but it evens my skin tone and feels super lightweight on my face. And SPF 50!
Jungsaemmool Lip Liner: The most perfect lip liner. I layer it under every lip gloss I wear and I love the unique squared off tip.
Mark's Inc. Tous Les Jours Mechanical Pencil: When I read I circle lil words I don’t know and I like to do it in pencil so I scooped this one up from my new favorite small shop, Soleil in Maine and I love that it looks and feels like a regular pencil with all the functionality of a mechanical one!
Naturium Shimmer Lip Balm: I ride or die for the Naturium lip balms – they’re thick, emollient, and super shiny so I ran to scoop these up when they launched and they did not disappoint!
Aerie Superchill Modal Rib Long Sleeve Henley T-Shirt: I know a new Aerie loungewear launch hates to see me coming and I am loooving this new modal line that’s a perfect dupe for the Negative Whipped collection.
Loreal Paradise Mascara: I am ride or die for Chanel Le Volume but I’ve been on the hunt for a more ~wallet friendly~ option and this one from Loreal really gets the job done.
Pantene Volumizing Shampoo: I saw this girl with incredible hair on TikTok and she used this so I figured, why not try it. And I love it, my hair feels super soft and full and it smells like 2009.
POPFLEX Leggings & Long sleeve tee: I saw a couple videos from influencers I actually trust saying that POPFLEX lived up to the hype so I ordered a few basics and am happy to report that my god these leggings are perfect. Fantastic quality, flattering, with the perfect amount of hold, and I love this long sleeve shirt paired with them.
Hermes Eyeliner: I have been looking for an eyeliner that comes close to the OG Kevyn Aucoin kohl (RIP) and this is the closest I’ve ever come. The formula is just soft enough that it blends beautifully but it stays all day.
Bloomingdales Diamond Earrings: My big splurge lately was a pair of these DeBeers code diamond earrings. I’ve been slowly building a collection of staple jewelry and I felt like it was finally time to add a diamond stud I could wear everyday. I got the .75 carat and I feel like they’re just big enough to sparkle and make a statement without looking gauche.
Kosas Bronzer: I recently switched from the Guerlain bronzer to this because I wanted something unscented and I love it. It’s so radiant and easy to blend.
Ark Colour Bookmarks: Another find from Soleil Maine, these leather bookmarks are so vibrant and fun and I think would make the perfect gift for the reader in your life.
Millie Amber Brass Shell Ornament: I have this hanging in my room next to one of my favorite Wyeth paintings and it’s so whimsical and romantic.
MG Reads:
I have been reading as in like constantly lately. So let’s rapid fire some books I’ve loved recently. I adored I Hope This Finds You Well – it was such a delightful and heartfelt read, like if a really good Caesar salad and crisp Diet Coke were a book. Creation Lake was one of those books that reminds you why literature is an art form. Acts of Desperation broke me open and then put me back together again. Ling Ling Huang can do no wrong, of course I loved Immaculate Conception. The Dream Hotel was terrifying and will make you throw your Oura ring in a volcano. Cursed Bread was lyrical and tragic and devious in such a surprising way. If you support women’s wrongs, read Audition. Finally, Victorian Psycho was… aptly named (a compliment.)
