Hi shoppers!
Happy Spring! After a few weeks of themed newsletters, today weāre doing a good ole little bit of this and little bit of that of some recent favorite purchases and finds. Iāve been really back in the swing of things with work and treating myself to lots of goodies along the way, some big some small, so whether youāre looking to get a $15 dollar hit of serotonin or a $250 therapy purchase under your belt, todayās newsletter has you covered.
Djerf Avenue Beauty: By now, I probably donāt need to remind you guys that I am a full Djerf Avenue stan ā their quality is fab, and I love that their website is size and disability inclusive. Obviously Matilda is the it girl when it comes to hair, so I couldnāt resist trying both the Breezy Spray and the Styling Gel. They do not disappoint. I use the spray on mostly dry hair before a blow dry and it truly adds a ton of volume without feeling stiff or heavy. The styling gel is a super lightweight formula that holds my hair back when I put it up in a bun but unlike some of the pomades and other styling creams and gels Iāve tried, it feels lightweight in your hair and washes out easily. Highly recommend both.
Tower 28 Goodies: For the past few months I have been really struggling with eczema on my face; I also have been dealing with a nasty scratched cornea ā so just in general, my whole face situation has been ultra sensitive. On my very skincare-astute sisterās recommendation, I started using the T28 SOS Spray and saw a really great improvement in the dryness in my skin. I use it before bed and as a step in my skincare routine and itās comfortable, refreshing, and effective. When I had luck with that, I reached out to the brand to see about trying some of their other products and their mascara was a godsend as my eye has been healing because it gives great payoff and length but is safe for sensitive eyes; itās comfortable and doesnāt flake throughout the day.
Code Glokolor Balm: Also on my sisterās recommendation, I have become a huge Olive Young convert for lip products; the stains, balms, and glosses are such great formulas and Iāll probably do a newsletter soon with all my favs. But for now, I have to highlight this one in particular which is like a much better version of the Laneige Lip Mask; SO hydrating and the shine payoff lasts a really long time.
Hermes Scarf: Ok onto something a little more heavy hitting, Iāve been wanting a smaller Hermes scarf to wear as a kerchief now that the weather is warmer and I couldnāt resist the skeleton motif on this one. Hermes scarves are one of those items that, if youāre looking to splurge, the investment is always worth it and I love this smaller format with a simple t-shirt or button down.
T3 Hot Rollers: The folks at T3 were lovely enough to offer to send me some hair styling products to try and these Hot Rollers were my fav; I am typically a Dyson AirWrap girlie but I used hot rollers when I was younger and there is something about the curl they give ā it lasts all day and it provides so much volume.
Replacements Royal Worcester Pitcher: Iāve been scouring everywhere for the perfect simple white porcelain pitcher for flowers and I finally found this beaut on Replacements which has, I think, literally every piece of dinnerware known to man. (The exact pitcher I got is out of stock but Iāve linked to the Creamer which is just slightly smaller!) I of course love this specific pitcher, but if youāre looking for a vase, mugs, literally anything for your kitchen or home, I would give Replacements a look because wow, what a gold mine.
Montelle Full Cup Bra & Slip: As I recover from my last surgery and continue my near constant quest for comfortable but stylish clothing, the folks at Montelle offered to send me some of their wire-free, fuller bust options and I was so impressed with them. My favorites are this full-cup slip that I wear around the house with a sweater or big button down over it, and this wire-free bra that feels like a bralette but gives the support of a t-shirt bra.
Avene Eczema Care: In addition to my T28 SOS Spray, Iāve been incorporating the Ciciafate+ Cream and the Tolerance Control Balm into my routine; both are so gentle on my skin and I saw a bug improvement in the dry patches on my face in only a couple days.
France Luxe Ultra Comfort Headband: I am growing out my bangs which is actually what your hair will always feel like if you go to hell, and Iāve been desperate to find ways to keep them off my face while theyāre at a truly awful and awkward length. I usually find headbands to be dreadfully uncomfortable and Iām prone to headaches but Iāve always had luck with France Luxe hair products, so I decided to give this one a try. Itās so, so good ā zero headache, feels light as a feather on my head, and looks very old money chic.
Chanel Paris - Venise Lotion: Iāve been on the market for a new fragrance and I tried this on at Nordstrom and loved it. Itās fresh and feminine and ever so slightly sweet. The eau de toilette didnāt last too long on me so I opted for the lotion which had much better reviews for longevity and I put it on in the morning and can still smell it all day!
PacSun x Met Collection Sweater: Probably one of my favorite gifted items over the last month has been this menās PacSun sweater from their Met collab. Itās synthetic (so not itchy) and I love wearing it oversized with a pair of black leggings and a chunky New Balance Sneaker.
Material Girl Reads:
Iāve been devouring books like my life depends on it these last few weeks, in part for a work thing (more on that soon) and in part for pleasure ā and one of the absolute biggest delights was the fourth installment in the Millenium series, The Girl in the Spiderās Web. Itās the first in the series not written by Stieg but all the quintessential Scandi intrigue and nuance was there and I truly enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the next.
