Hello shoppers!
Today’s edition is going to be a little different — if you’re new around here, I have a condition called endometriosis. Among other miserable things, it causes a fuck ton of chronic pain and that can make dressing kinda a chore sometimes! Which, for a clothes addict like myself, really sucks! When I’m doing well, I can usually wear most things I like even for a short amount of time, but when I’m in a flare, everything feels like shards of glass SO I’ve searched high and low over the years for clothing that I can wear when my pain is at its worst and I’m sharing that here with you.
Also you might notice that this one isn’t behind a paywall and that’s because I refuse to gatekeep chronic pain finds but if you like what you see here, please consider signing up for my paid subscription because I promise all my clothing finds have endo pain in mind!
Without further ado! Your endo shopping list:
SKIMS: Ok I’m sorry, I know Kim is problematic for 4352349058 reasons but that bitch knows how to make loungewear. I have practically the entire cozy line and not only does it not aggravate my pain, it kinda feels like it actively soothes it. For warmer days, I live in her lounge dress — I have the spaghetti strap and the long sleeve. Can be worn around the house, or out and on my bad days I don’t wear a bra or underwear and you can’t really see through it! I also do love her shapewear bra for days I want the lift of an underwire but can’t tolerate the feeling and the fits everybody bralettes feel like butter as well — as do the leggings! I wear a L in most of the bottoms and an XL in bras!
HANRO Touch Feeling: Another holy grail pain bra — I bought my first one years ago in Neiman’s with my mom when my pain was at its worst and I have been a devotee ever since. They are beautifully soft, they have amazing stretch, and they last forever. I have the tank version and the spaghetti strap version and while they don’t give as much support as the SKIMS shapewear bra, they’re definitely softer and gentler on the body. Pricey, but promise me they’re worth it. I wear a L!
Silk & Salt dress: This is my go to for when I absolutely cannot fathom the feeling of even a single piece of clothing on my skin. They’re one size fits all, come in a variety of colors, and wash really well in the washing machine. I also skip a bra and underwear all the time with this dress and you would never know. Perfect summer dress!
Nap Dresses: Now, if you know me you know I am a Hill House devotee — their nap dresses are some of my favorite things to wear when my pain is bad because they are soft and flattering and make you feel like you live in an English cottage with your perfect gardener husband. I have truly too many to list here, but I love the classic Ellie! I wear a S or M depending on the style but returns are a BREEZE so I always say if you’re unsure just order two and return one!
Aerie Joggers: A recent fav of mine, I picked these up at the store without even trying them on and as soon as I got home and put them on I went online and ordered a second pair. They are SO SO soft, the waistband isn’t tight at all and they’re also weirdly really flattering. I have them in a M for everyday, and L for my exceptionally bad days.
La Perla Silk Nighties: I cannot tolerate any sort of seams or lace or straps when I go to sleep and I scour the internet for these and buy them whenever they go on sale. They feel like nothing on, they are beautiful, flattering, and fantastic quality. Definitely on the pricier side but trust me they are worth it! I wear a 4.
Natori Caftan: A recent addition to my collection, you literally cannot ever go wrong with a Natori caftan. They come in all different colors and shapes — I just bought this one because it was on sale and I was pleasantly surprised to find the material had some weight to it, sort of like a stretchy viscose blend, so it doesn’t feel like pajamas.
Free People Wide Leg Pant: Ok sometimes you have to leave the house and when you do you need clothes. I bought these pants recently and was SHOCKED that they not only fit me in a M (I’m a 10/12 in jeans for comparison) but that they were flowy and billowy enough to definitely be comfortable on bad pain days.
& Other Stories Dress: This one was in the first newsletter but I LOVE it for bad pain days with a little white tennis sneaker or flat sandal!
