Hi shoppers!
Happy spring! I know itโs been a minute โ the last month+ has been a little more hectic than I would have preferred. For longtime readers, youโll know that I live with endometriosis and while Iโve sworn of talking about it online, Iโll just say that the past few months have not been the most ideal. Alas, I have not been able to dedicate the time I typically do to sharing my shopping finds with you all โ but the good news is, nothing distracts me from the misery of chronic pain quite like hitting add to cart, so I do have lots to share. Letโs dive in, shall we?
Donniโฆ everything: After being haunted by Donni ads for months, I finally caved and bought a pair of their kick flare pants during the holidays. Much to my dismay, they were well worth the money and with summer around the corner, I recently added to my Donni collection โ their box weave pant and sweater sets are phenomenal; their boat neck rib top is a new staple for me; and I am the proud owner of their Baby Rib Scallop pant in multiple colors. Feels like PJs, looks like chic bitch clothing. And of course, their stripe trouser.
Gap Dress: I notoriously hate the heat so this time of year I always start stocking up on summer dresses. This one from Gap is a nice affordable dupe (sort of) for my ride or die Ciao Luciaโs.
Doen Dress: Speaking of dresses, I bought this in orange on sale last year and when I saw it in the blue and white stripe on sale this year I had to have it. Itโs the perfect weightless dress to wear on super hot days.
Churchโs sandals: Every two-ish years I treat myself to a new pair of Churchโs sandals in brown and black and then I wear them to absolute death. Honestly the pairs I bought years ago are still in great shape but the size of my foot has changed very slightly which gave me a great excuse to buy a new pair of fisherman sandals, and strappy brown sandals. They are *so* comfortable, and incredibly well made. Forgo buying 4 pairs of trendy sandals and invest in one or two pairs of these.
Tiffany Diamond Necklace: I am an eBay Japan devotee and I have been eyeing this solitaire diamond necklace for years. The Japanese reseller I bought it from priced it at literally 75% of retail, so legally I had to buy it. Search the title of the piece and filter by โships fromโ and Japan and you can find pretty much any Tiffany piece at a massive discount.
Westman Atelier Blush: If Gucci Westman builds it, I will come. And this blush is absolutely no different. I wear it everyday; itโs lightweight and lasting on the skin and it has no scent.
Spicy Dan Necklace from Shortlisted: I love Shoplisted founder Raeโs curation and every summer I like to buy a whimsical necklace to style with summer clothes. This piece is *so* fun and incredibly well made.
Elsa Peretti Bookmark: Buy this for every book lover in your life. Itโs the most elegant gift and incredibly functional.
Barbour Jacket: I needed a lightweight Spring jacket and Barbour is always my go-to. I love how durable their pieces are and how simply theyโre designed. No bells and whistles, just pure practicality and comfort, built to last.
Vuitton Key Pouch: In the summer I typically like to carry a smaller bag so I wanted something that was more streamlined than my wallet. This key pouch which is slightly larger than their standard key pouch is perfect for cash, cards, and a few other essentials.
Vera Bradley Tote: On the other end of the spectrum, I also was in the market for a tote that could carry my book and a water bottle for days that I knew Iโd be out of the house all day. High school Caroline would have cringed so hard at buying something Vera Bradley but Iโm mature enough to admit itโs incredibly cute and functional.
Floating bookshelves: I needed more book storage (shocker, I know) and these complemented my Design Within Reach floating bookshelf really well.
Material Girl Reads:
You know Iโm busy when I donโt even have a ton of reading to report. I usually polish off 3-5 books a week but Iโm down to 1-2 which I know sounds insufferable but whatever, itโs my newsletter! But I still read some real bangers. Intimacies by Katie Kitamura was brilliant and tender and prompted me to immediately buy her other novels. Carnality by Lina Wolff scratched such an itch for a weird girl book, I also immediately bought more by her. Thirst For Salt by Madeline Lucas was a shattering portrait of a May-December romance. Oh Honey by Emily R. Austin and Swimming Home by Deborah Levy were two novellas I tore through โ the former VERY weird and dark, the latter VERY poetic and dark (check TWโs for both.) Finally I read the Land of Milk and Honey by C Pam Zhang which was so incredibly immersive and lush, I loved it so much.
