Hi shoppers!!
As many of you already know, most of my time as a culture and fashion writer is spent in the menswear space. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping for makeup and purses and dresses as if it was the air and food that sustains me. But as a fashion and style wonk, nothing makes me feel more excited than really good menswear: a perfectly tailored suit, an outfit with richly layered knits — obsessing over details like the width of a lapel and a break in the pant.
And so I created Anatomy of A Suit — my love letter to menswear. It is a newsletter for menswear lovers and wonks; a place where I’ll share interviews with the beating heart of men’s style — costume designers, tailors, stylists, and the most well dressed men in the world. It’s also somewhere I’ll explore my menswear obsessions, unpacking everything from Scandi style for men to where you can buy outfits inspired by looks in classic movies.
I’m also using the paid subscriber option in a slightly ~unconventional~ way in that, in addition to getting access to some exclusive content, paid subscribers will gain access to my styling services directly, simply by replying to the newsletters that hit their inbox. My styling services for appointments average ~$900 and ~$1500 for a monthly retainer — but for $30 a month, paid subscribers will be able to send me up to 3 questions per month.
My first edition will hit inboxes next week, and without giving too much away, it’s an interview with one of the top male models in the business — after that it’s an Emmy Winning costume designer and a tailor who calls Martin Scorsese, “Marty.”
If you love men’s fashion, or you have a man in your life who does (or maybe who needs to be a little more fashion-forward) I hope you’ll consider subscribing or sharing with your friends and family. And of course you’ll still be getting your twice monthly dose of Material Girl in your inbox, that’s not going anywhere!!
xx
