🌶 Hot stuff baby! 🌶
This week's shopping list is dedicated to things that make me feel like a hottie
Hello my lovelies!!!
First let me say how exciting it is to see so many new faces here. You guys put me in the top 25 Substack fashion & beauty newsletters in just a few weeks and I could lit-ra-ly cry!
Before we get started I just want to mention that my favorite housewares artiste — Orna Handpainted Candles — is dropping some new candles at the end of the month and it almost pains me to share that with you all because I want to scoop them all up for myself but Meg is the loveliest and no one makes more beautiful candles and you should all shop with her small business. I keep a stash of her candles on hand to swap out of my candle holders in my room (I’m loopy and I don’t even burn them, just use them as decor) and to give out as gifts! Sign up for her newsletter for info on the drop!
I’ve been trying to figure out what this week’s theme should be — should I do makeup, housewares, lingerie, a mishmash. Then this Miaou corset came in the mail and it dawned on me: this is going to be a list of all the things I’ve purchased recently that make me feel hot as shit. Makeup that gives me the best sultry eyes, lingerie that reminds me to love my body even on my worst days, press-on nails that give me the confidence of Carmela Soprano hurling a phone at my husband, you get the idea.
So without further ado, here is a list of things to add to cart for yourself, or someone you love to feel like liquid sex.
Miaou Campbell Corset — I have been eyeing one of the Miaou corsets for years, since they first came out but they’re pricey for sure, and also I have massive honkers so I’m leery of corsets in general. But this week I was having an absolutely abysmal pain flare this week and decided to order it on Revolve where the return policy is pretty safe. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The corset is soft and somewhat stretchy and fits me beautifully in the large; it provides enough structure and support that I can forgo a bra and isn’t constricting in a way that it creates unflattering bulges etc, like under the arm or on my back. I’m gonna wear it this summer with black knit straight trousers, but I think it would also look super cute with jeans.
Chanel Le Volume Mascara — My holy grail, people literally ask me if I have false eyelashes on when I’m wearing this. It doesn’t clump, it stays all day, and it’s a very dark black which gives your eyes such a sultry look. It’s dense enough to wear on its own without any shadow or liner, but with a full eye makeup look it looks so lush and hot.
Negative Whipped Baby Tee — I love the whole Negative Whipped line and this tee is so sexy; it’s just the right amount of sheer (you can see a bra through it, but in a way that catches the eye, not stops it) and it is the kind of soft that you can literally feel when you see it on someone (read: anyone watching your body move in this will immediately melt.) I layer it with the matching cardi for opacity where it’s needed.
Trashy Lingerie Isadora Demi Cup Babydoll — I saw this beaut on TikTok and rabidly tracked it down and yes I know it is ridiculously pricey but wow is it a beautiful piece. The cups are so sweet and make your boobs look so plump; the skirt bottom is so flowwy and flattering and, in my opinion, is where it’s really clear why it is the price it is.
Makeup by Mario Lip Gloss — I’ve tried a few Mario beauty projects and I can’t lie; they live up to the hype. This gloss makes the list because it gives you that instagram hot girl plump nude lip look. It also has absolutely no scent which, as someone who deals with chronic nausea, I really appreciate.
Cuccia Sopranos Thong — The name says it all. I am a Cuccia stan, I think I own every pair of underwear on the site but these are the ones I reach for when I really want to feel like I’m in an 80’s soft core porno. The cut is perfect, the fabric is soft and lush. I wear a L comfortably!
Rouje Amber Top — I’ve been really digging Rouje lately and I got this top a few weeks ago and it is officially my go to summer blouse. It is so perfectly feminine and flattering, even on my chest size. The wrap effect tucks in perfectly at the waist, and the colors are a really lovely pastel that I think will look great with blue jeans, black trousers, or even white linen trousers.
Vince Slip Dress — I have this dress in 6? 7? colors? For three years now I have been scouring every online sale for it from Nordstrom Rack to Neiman Marcus and scooping it up wherever I find it. It’s a beautiful shape and the fabric moves like water — skimming the body without clinging or catching on it. It’s the perfect slinky summer slip dress. I wear it in a M!
Facile Press on French Manicure — I LOVE these nails; if you follow me on social you know I am a press on and DIY nail art slut. And I have tried virtually every brand of press-on on the market; every shape, every type of glue, every color, every pattern. This is the most flattering shape, the most comfortable length, and the prettiest french set I’ve tried. I literally ordered four sets so I’ll always have one on standby when I want them. (I recommend the Nails of LA or Static Nails glue!)
Honey Birdette Whitney Bodysuit — This was a gift from the lovely team at HB and I was definitely skeptical when it arrived because, as we’ve established, I have big boobs. But when I hoisted them into this bodysuit it made me look like I had literally had a breast lift. I love the seams along the bodice part as well, they add a really flattering line to the bottom half of the piece that doesn’t take away from the lace top.
